The Best Calgary Tattoo Shops

My mum and I had a wonderful experience at Skull & Lotus for our tattoos with Lisa (@jiggystackss). We were greeted at the door by a friendly face who helped get us all checked in and consents signed etc.

The shop itself is huge! Super bright and clean. Throughout our stay we saw team members diligently cleaning the work spaces, and it was clear to see sterile/single use items in the shop for tattooing. Lisa was so lovely to work with, and took great care of us – it was my mum’s very first tattoo and we felt she and the team went the extra mile to help her feel comfortable about the decision; they even popped on some great tunes for her!

My first experience with Skull and Lotus was at the Calgary tattoo convention. I got a piece done by Brendan (@yamada_tattoo) and immediately fell in love with his work. I’ve returned to their shop twice now to get two more pieces done by him. Each time has been an amazing experience. He’s always good to chat with and makes the tattoo process more enjoyable. The shop has a very unique atmosphere and everyone there is always friendly. They have an amazing little chill spot for you or any guests you bring along. I’ve recommended the artists there and their services to anyone I get a chance to talk to, definitely a must visit place for anyone interested in tattoos.

Dan did such a fantastic job if I could rate 6 stars I would, he’s a “swiss army knife in a room of spoons” any style he got you! He did 2 tattoos on me today and made them look better than the photos I sent. Could not be any more happy, the vibe of the shop was immaculate, chatted with someone else getting a tattoo, everyone seemed so happy. Thanks

Fantastic atmosphere and staff. Bell is truly gifted and the prettiest artist in Calgary. Thank you for giving me the tattoo I’ve been wanting for the past 29 years and making it my new favourite. I definitely be back again and again and again haha.

Had 2 pieces done by Eddie and have nothing but good things to say about the entire experience. Friendly atmosphere, amazing artwork and excellent conversations. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and will definitely be back for more some day.

Had a top notch session with Eddie today, so impressed! The shop is extremely clean, quiet and has a very laid-back vibe. He himself is extremely talented, personable & easy-going. I was pretty particular with what I was looking for (and could only describe it) so he stopped several times to ensure we were on track with my desires – made me feel totally at ease with being picky & confident that I was getting what I wanted. In the end he far exceeded my expectations. All around a fantastic experience. I’ll be back soon! Thanks Eddie!

I have had a few pieces done by Kennedy over the past while. She is always very friendly and welcoming. I love her vibe and positive attitude. Her studio is always clean and comfortable with an aesthetic that matches her perfectly. She designed my tattoos, as I had pictured, and we did no reworking of them because I was happy from the start.
She asked if I preferred numbing cream and I feel she went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable through the entire process. She never minded my follow up questions for after care and helped me make the right decisions for my body. She has great communication, awesome taste in music and a general kindness about her. Professional, friendly, inclusive, sober, genuine person. Would recommended 10/10 to everyone.

There’s no one else I would go to for fine lines. Amazing artist. Out of my 5 tattoos with 5 different Artists, hers is the only one that didn’t get inflamed and bleed.

Stopped by today for one of their “Get what you Get” tattoo and had the pleasure of being tattooed by Enoch! He did an amazing job with my tattoo and I will definitely be going back to see him for more! The vibe and culture here is amazing from what I’ve seen!

Best tattoo shop experience I have ever had. James knows what he’s doing as an artist and creates an environment that fits to any customer needs. I’d send my mother in to get tattooed by this guy. 10/10.

Went in for a tattoo back in September of 2021. Dan did a phenomenal job on the tattoo and was very accommodating with my schedule and even helping with the pain through the use of some effective numbing spray. I’ve highly recommended Dan to friends and family alike and I certainly look forward to returning for my next piece.

I got an amazing tattoo by the amazing Jessica Doyle. She was super quick, professional, and so incredibly easy to talk to. I have recommended her already to several of my friends and look forward to getting a new tattoo from her as soon as possible.

A huge thanks to Ryan Trews for the beautiful work he’s done for me! Jakku tattoos is a great shop with fantastic artists! The shop is clean, spacious and has a very relaxed atmosphere. I’ve always felt comfortable at Jakku tattoos and look forward to returning to fill us my arm more!

Still have a few sessions to go on my sleeve, but I can say that hands down no question Karli is one of the best artists I’ve ever met in my life. The work she’s doing goes so far beyond even the ideal I was hoping for. I could not be happier with it and I know the other artists here work to at least the same calibur as her

This was a very chill and comfortable spot to get ink done! Emilie’s is a natural Tattoo Artist!! She knows whats she’s doing which made me feel very relaxed! She’s creative and takes time of her day to make sure all your needs are met. Whether it be a consultation, or any questions you have she’ll make the time for you!! Excellent Tattoo Artist!!

I recently started in on a upper half sleeve. I told him I wanted to do a memorial portrait of my family dog and I am beyond ecstatic at how it turned out. It looks just like Charlie.
