The best way to express your love for a delicious bowl of ramen has to be an equally delightful ramen tattoo.
Contrary to popular belief, the origins of Ramen actually go back to China in the 19th century. Since then, its become a global phenomenon but is more closely associated with Japanese culture.
I took a look around and tried to find a variety of styles depicting one of my favorite meals. Enjoy!
Woman in Ramen Bowl
I wanted to start this list off with a bang, showcasing something you probably won’t expect when it comes to a ramen tattoo.
This artist took a completely different approach, using the head of a woman as the centerpiece of the bowl. Creepy!
Thick Linework Ramen Tattoo
I love everything from this artist, and this is no exception.
He’s known for his super thick linework with out-of-bound colors, and it’s easy to see why his style is becoming so popular.
Woman Ramen Arm Tattoo
These thick blackwork tattoos look great, especially with the color of her skin.
The subtle shading on the key elements gives it that perfect balance of simplicity to detail.
Ramen Hangover Tattoo
I don’t know if this is supposed to depict a deadly hangover, but based on the skeleton and bottle of beer, I’m going to go ahead and assume the worst (plus, ramen is key for dealing with a hangover).
Ramen Micro Realism Tattoo
These micro-realism tattoos are getting really popular due to the sheer amount of detail artists can pack into such a tiny space.
This tattoo is actually making me hungry looking at it, so well done to this artist!
Traditional Frog Ramen Tattoo
I like how the artist leaned into this traditional Japanese style by depicting this frog chowing down on a hot bowl of ramen.
Colorful Ramen Tattoo
Here’s a tiny little ramen tattoo that packs a big punch with its bright, saturated colors.
I can only assume that egg yolk is hiding from his upcoming doom.
Ramen Arm Tattoo
I picked this one for the list mostly due to its composition.
You typically see these done in a simple circle shape, but I like how the artist took the approach of spilling the bowl to take up much more vertical space on the arm.
Hannya Mask Ramen Tattoo
I love how dark and full of contrast this piece is, and the addition of that Hannya mask gives it much more personality than a simple little bowl.
Tiny Ramen Hip Tattoo
This tiny hip tattoo works well at this size due to its big, bold lines.
Cute Ramen Character Tattoo
Keep it weird, right? This little guy seems to be wearing a ramen bowl like a little costume, and I ain’t mad about it.
Man in Soup Tattoo
Not only is this man’s head stuck in the bowl of soup, but he also seems to be trying to eat his way out of it as well!
I like the colors on this one, and it looks like they even have a tattoo in a similar style next to this one.
Dragon Ramen Tattoo
Why do dragon tattoos always work so well? This is a perfect marriage of traditional Asian art mixed with one of Asia’s most popular foods.
The flowing lines on both the noodles and the dragon make this a great combination.
Simple Ramen Tattoo
This is another fun little piece that stands out due to its colorful design. Sometimes you don’t need a huge piece to make a big impact.
Flowing Ramen Tattoo
This is a pretty stunningly beautiful piece, depicting what appears to be a ramen bowl falling to the ground. A travesty if I’ve ever seen one.
Summary
I hope you’ve enjoyed this small selection of some of these ramen tattoos. If you’ve got one yourself, feel free to contact us, and I’d be happy to add it to the list.
