Our good friend, the Pisces. They’re the 12th sign of the zodiac, and encompass those who joined us earth-side between February 19th to March 20th. They’re known to be compassionate, intuitive, emotional, and artistic. Being a water sign, Pisces personalities flow and adapt like a river gliding over rocks.
The Pisces symbol is two fish swimming in opposing directions, representing their duality, and their constant conflict between reality and fantasy.
We found some amazing Pisces tattoos to depict these personality traits and showcase this zodiac sign in the best ways. Enjoy.
1. Water Girl
This concept is amazing. The water feels so saturated, and I really like how the water line looks in the middle of her face. Having the separation of the water line to the eyes, but with the eyes still holding the same color as the water, is where the statement is made.
This is perfectly suited for the water nature of a Pisces. Definitely into this one.
2. Pisces Horoscope Tattoo
The darkness in this piece almost feels like some kind of poetic turmoil. The background is so mysterious, while the fish and the constellation glow exquisitely around the subject.
Additionally, the ear plugs and nose ring add character that seems very personal. Stunning.
3. Best Pisces Tattoo Ever
Pie? Seas? PIE-SEAS? GET IT GUYS?
Not gonna lie. This is my favorite on the entire list.
4. Watercolor Fish
This tattoo is straight out of a fantasy.
The watercolor style is a great concept for Pisces ink, and it works beautifully here with so much flourish around the tails and fins, and such vibrant color throughout.
5. Neo-Traditional Pisces Girl
I adore this piece. The fish have so much character to begin with, and the warm tones used are quite nice. With such intense eyes staring deep into you, the woman holds your gaze like a puzzle that needs to be solved.
I almost feel a sense of sadness or melancholy in her, just me?
Remember to pop on over to our neo-traditional tattoos list for more like this.
6. Embroidery Fish
Embroidery-style tattoos blow my mind! This looks like it would feel like soft corduroy, and I just can’t wrap my brain around it. The colors are so nice and vibrant as well, I’m a huge fan of this one.
7. Winding River
A creative take on your typical Pisces idea, this focuses on the water element alone, which looks fantastic rolling down the entire arm.
8. Koi Fish Pisces Tattoo
A different take on watercolor, these koi beauties are fantastic. The image behind them continues in the watery theme, but adds a bit of a space element as well.
9. Pisces Back Tattoo
This mystical feeling Pisces has a bit of a witchy vibe. It’s rolling on the trendy side, but we’re here for it.
10. Circling Fish Pisces Tattoo
This piece really caught my eye, with the choice of colors as well as the style. The purple and yellow almost seem like smoke, and I feel the negative space in the middle combined with the lack of visible eyes on the fish allude to something unknown or ominous.
The contrast between the lines and blackwork of the fish, and the vibrancy of the background with no defined lines is a great touch.
11. Opposing Fish
A little more classic, but not lacking in flair! These Pisces fish are balanced by one being in full bright color, and the other a traditional black and grey. These play together so well.
12. Glowing Mermaid Constellation
It’s always impressive to me when tattoo artists can create the impression of a glow. This lustrous constellation stands out beautifully over this cutie pie mermaid with matching highlights.
13. Balance
This tattoo has roots in Hermetic philosophy (look up The Kybalion if you’re intrigued), leaning into the concept of polarity.
The fish in the Pisces symbol often indicate yin and yang, or balance. This correlates with polarity, and cause and effect, definitely a different angle from what we typically see with Pisces ink.
14. Cosmic Constellation
Some cute little charm in this tattoo for you! Planets and stars tied together to form the constellation in a crisp little bundle of joy.
15. Minimalist Pisces Tattoo
Minimal and uncomplicated is always a great alternative, and this piece is keeping things simple for us. Executed beautifully with just the right amount of shading to imply depth, we’re on board with this.
16. Fish In Space
As an astrological sign, it makes sense that a Pisces piece would have some cosmic elements. The juxtaposition of the fish surrounding outer space is excellent.
Be sure to click on the image source and see that this is a very well-done cover-up!
17. Zodiac Sign With Flowers
A sweet little Pisces symbol with flowers, this is a charming way to show your sign and your softness.
We’ve scraped the internet to find our favorite thigh tattoos if this is up your alley.
18. Dark And Light
I really like this tattoo. There is a theory that Pisces are torn between fantasy and reality. This is a great representation of that, with the fish swimming in opposite directions, but also pushing against each other in a way with their opposing darkness and light.
I love the delicate flowers on the light fish and the boldness of the white stars on the depth of the dark fish.
19. Pisces Queen
The detail in this lady keeps your eyes searching for more. I love the white highlights throughout, feeling like they’re adding illumination in all the right spots.
20. Bright Little Babies
These darling little fishies (yes I said fishies, look at them) are too cute. As a nice little pop of color to make your statement, these will work just fine in our books.
21. Ransom Note Lettering
This is a great style for text tattoos! The “pieces of paper” actually appear as though they’re sitting on top of the skin, and simultaneously they seem like they’re in a 2D world. Excellent work by this artist!
22. Eel Pisces
This unique tattoo caught me off guard, I really appreciate the variety in the “fish” choice! And if I’m being entirely honest, I didn’t even notice that they were in a skull until probably the 5th time I looked at it.
Discovering hidden gems in tattoos is always a fun surprise.
23. Simple Pisces Tattoo
It’s all about soft flow here, with these long ethereal tails giving the impression of fragile movement. They almost feel otherworldly, like some flowy muse will come and whisper to them, and they’ll start to whirl around in their glowing water.
24. Geometric Pisces Tattoo
Sharp angles and edges are making this piece so satisfying, with subtle differences to keep it from being too symmetrical.
25. Traditional Mermaid
Every list needs a traditional piece, and here’s our Pisces selection! The mermaid is a classic choice, and obviously an excellent selection if you’re looking for a water-nature idea.
26. Sketched Fish
These fish are gorgeous. They remind me of watching “making of” videos of old animation and seeing the loose sketches done by those incredible artists. Does anyone else see it?
27. Micro Realism Pisces Tattoo
These dainty darlings are great. Fish can be tough to convey in micro realism because they’re so detailed, but we think the artist definitely accomplished this.
Speaking of detail, we’ve got a list of micro realism tattoos that fits the bill perfectly. Check it out.
28. Pisces Star Constellation Tattoo
People often get very creative with their tattoo choices, so it’s nice to see a clean, straightforward piece like this. The red ink is an elegant choice to add personality without complication.
We love red ink tattoos, so much that we made a list of those as well. Take a look.
29. Realistic Koi Pisces Tattoo
These look just like what I imagine when I picture a Japanese emperor’s garden pond. I really love this tattoo, it feels traditional and has such beautiful detail (notice the small glimmering white scales).
30. Whimsical Fish
This almost feels like a multimedia piece of work.
The coloring brings us back to some of our watercolor tattoos from earlier, but it’s mixed in with some fine line and dot work, and even a couple of swooshes that feel like they’ve been made with a sharpie. We love the creativity here.
31. Pisces Zodiac Sign Tattoo
Simple and to the point! Two thumbs up!
32. Constellation With Flowers
Pretty apricot blossoms adorn this constellation in a tender way, and I imagine the 7-digit number has some key significance as well. This piece feels very special.
33. Pin-up Pisces
This gal is giving us another traditional option, but a bit more obvious towards the Pisces symbolism with her fish.
34. Dreamy Fish
Hi yes I would like these fish for my home tank, please and thank you. These beauties look like they’re doing a magnificent Pisces ballet.
35. Minimal Constellation
The mini-est of mini constellations, this piece has delightful little twinkles of color to put a smile on your face! How lovely.
36. Yin Yang Pisces Tattoo
As mentioned earlier, the Pisces symbol often represents yin and yang, which can be translated to a variety of notions, based on where the meaning lies for you. Good and evil, masculine and feminine, death and life, or balance in general, among others.
I love the boldness of this yin-yang symbol within this tattoo, while the fish are less pronounced. It offers a bit of contrast, while both elements are equally significant.
